Description: Mixed media — portable typewriter, acrylic glass
14 x 14 x 2 inches deep
Comment: This sculpture was commissioned as a memorial to an award-winning screenwriter by his wife. The portable typewriter was used to write all of his scripts and was to be mounted on a hallway memorial wall commemorating famous residents of the retirement home where he had lived. The piece could not extend more than two inches from the wall. The portable typewriter was disassembled, crushed to 1 ‘/2 inches thick, assembled on the base, and mounted in an acrylic glass case. This work was completed in 2002.
